Frequently Asked Questions
Our Disc Feeders come in 4 sizes ranging from 2″ to 8″ in diameter. As a general rule of thumb:
- The 50 Series can feed up to 50 g/hr
- The 100 Series can feed up to 5 lbs/hr
- The 150 Series can feed up to 500 lbs/hr
- The 200 Series can feed up to up to 950 lbs/hr.
These feeder rates are dependent on the bulk density and flow-ability of the materials. The types of materials we can feed are powder, pellets, recycled, and granulates. Please contact us with your specifications, if capable, we are happy to accommodate your specific needs.
Many factors are discussed before determining the best-sized feeder for your operation. The top 4 factors are as follows:
- What type of material(s) will you be feeding?
- What is the minimum and maximum rate of throughput you require?
- What is the flow-ability of material, and are material aids required?
- We will typically request a sample of material to be sent to our lab for testing purposes. If material cannot be sent then we find a similar material for evaluation purposes.
