Utilizing Orbetron Equipment for Feeding Recycled Materials
As we define sustainability within the plastics industry, we focus on how each material can be recycled and reused throughout the manufacturing process. Manufactures typically use virgin materials, internal recycled materials, external recycled materials, and additives. Internal recycled materials are produced organically via scraps during startups and shutdowns. External recycled materials are more critical for feeding due to additional costs and possible tainted materials. Our machinery allows for a percentage of regrind to be reintroduced into products for cost reduction and use of recycled materials.
Here at Orbetron, we like to do our part of creating a process to reduce waste when possible. Orbetron’s product offering helps manufactures reuse their internal and external recycled plastics to achieve consistent and repeatable product by utilizing our disc and screw feeding technology for the extrusion and injection molding processes. As seen below, using our OSB extruder, it has capabilities of reintroducing regrind, fibrous materials and additives to extrude for final products.
Our technology also allows us to reintroduce recycled products, virgin materials, and additives which we feed into a compounding process to create reusable pellets for both extrusion and injection molding processes.
For injection molding our single disc feeders are easily mounted on the molding machine throat to feed the recycled material back into the process. Sustainability takes several partners, and we at Orbetron have great feeding solutions for your recycled materials that are added back into your processes.
