Orbetron is about the application of force to create displacement in many different dry feeding processes. The intent of the unique disc feeder is to optimize the process of feeding dry materials quickly and efficiently. At feed rates in the 10s, 100s, even 1000s of kgs/hr or lbs/hr, the efficient movement of material is lost to the size of the feeder itself and the motor drive assembly. The amount of work needed to create a force and displacement is often long, disruptive, damaging and inherently inefficient.

In an age of energy efficiency and concentrated force applied to the process, Orbetron moved to be smaller yet stronger in the force applied to create displacement. There comes a point where Archimedes’ screw no longer applies force efficiently, which in turn requires more work. More work on the product results in more degradation and potential transformation of the product into something different or less desirable.

Orbetron arguably builds the smallest industrial production feeders in the world. The feeders use very small stepper motors optimized for running with high torque capability at very slow speeds. Energy efficiency is optimized, and work applied to the displacement or dry materials is minimized to less than one rotation of a disc. Screw feeders need to work the same product many times to produce a horizontal movement to the discharge into the process. Orbetron does not need this wasted energy to move the same product in the process.

Don’t mistake or underestimate Orbetron disc feeders as weak due to their overall size. Pound for pound, they are more powerful due to their size. The work applied to create displacement is so direct as to allow the overall power of the feeder to be reduced as compared to any other feeder manufactured in the world.

Small, yet mighty. Lower power usage, yet much stronger. Force applied in such a way to create powerfully directed and accurate displacement.

Let Orbetron’s force applied to dry material displacement work for you and your process.
